Trained as a Junior Primary educator and music teacher in Australia, Julia came to Canada in 1988 following her passion for building 'A Culture of Peace through Tourism". She founded the International Holistic Tourism Education Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, to develop 'global sustainability education' programs that support teachers in schools, as they focus on climate change. Her most outstanding achievement and focus for 20 years is the International School Peace Gardens program, which fosters the creation of school peace gardens in schools around the world that transform the cultures of the schools and their communities to an appreciation for peace and sustainability. Julia was one of 1000 women across the world nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005, 2006 and 2007. She is a Member of the Order of St. George. In recognition of her outstanding achievements in the promotion of peace, she received the World Citizen in Action award in 2016. www.globalsustainabilityeducation.org is global in it's purpose.
